Got my head tucked, buried in blankets
My person is calling, jingles my harness
Burrow further, squeeze my lids tight
She’s ditched the harness, goes for my collar
Leash snaps on
Oh goodness now the jacket
Hunker my shoulders, stay still and stoic
(I’ve still got the upper hand)
A lift, a tug, sliding across the floor
Sometimes I underestimate her resolve
